Brilliance Executive Management Consultancy Limited (BEMCONSULT) has been engaged by one of it’s clients, a leading commercial bank to assist in the identification and recruitment of a qualified and competent professional for the position of Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO.


Job Purpose
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is directly responsible for the organization and coordination of executive office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate effectiveness and efficiency for the entire function, while ensuring alignment with the overall bank strategy in delivering the strategic agenda of that office. Maintain correspondence with Stakeholders, Board of Directors including advanced calendar management. Support the development and implementation of strategy.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Executive Administration

  • Extensive and multifaceted Outlook calendar management, including providing details of appointments for the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Ensure quality assurance and operational accuracy of all documents requiring the CEO’s signature. Guides staff on official formatting and standard protocol in processing executive correspondence and briefing materials.
  • Works closely with the Portfolio team to ensure all operations-related correspondence conforms with operational guidelines.
  • Schedule the CEO’s direct reports’ calendars on need basis for organizational meetings.
  • Provide complete executive administrative support and professional business skills by anticipating the Chief Executive Officer’s needs and successfully support daily business actions.
  • Support Company Secretary’s Office to schedule meetings on behalf of the Board Chair with stakeholders including travel and accommodation arrangements
  • Liaison between Chief Executive Officer, staff and other stakeholders
  • Serve as liaison with various staff members to ensure appropriate follow-up with assignments, projects and critical issues
  • Liaises with senior officials both inside and outside the Bank including a wide variety of high-level contacts in government offices, other international organizations, NGOs and the public sector.
  • Planning and implementation of key departmental wide events
  • Support Marketing and Company Secretary’s office in coordinating CEO’s events.
  • Supports the CEO in ensuring that management decisions are properly communicated, carried out and delivered in a timely manner.

Strategy and Performance Support

  • Support the Chief Executive Officer and all direct report functions in influencing the creation and communication of the bank strategy, business priorities and targets for the organization
  • Assist in the communication of strategy, priorities and objectives in the local context to direct reports of the Chief Executive Officer.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate in a minimum of 5 subjects with Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English
  • Degree in Business Administration or any other related field
  • Must have a minimum of seven (7+) working experience in a similar
    function as an Executive Assistant/Senior Executive Assistant to the
    Chief Executive Officer
  • Must be serving as Executive Assistant to a Chief Executive Officer, or Director for a Multinational/Regional Office
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure total discretion, confidentiality, and strong personal ethics.
  • Knowledge and experience in extensive and multifaceted outlook calendar management
  • Proficiency in use of MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Proven ability to communicate at all levels (EXCO Team, Stakeholders & Board of Directors)
  • Interested in engagement that gives opportunity to build career and business skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Must aspire to a culture of service excellence.
  • Proven experience in budget management
  • Must be ready to work in a highly demanding environment with tight deadlines (24-hour operations on call at all times).
  • Membership with a relevant professional body will a plus
